DuPont: Plantic partnership expands biopolymers position

DuPont (Wilmington, Delaware / USA; www.dupont.com) is partnering with Plantic Technologies (Melbourne / Australia; www.plantic.com.au) to develop and sell renewably sourced polymers. Based on Plantic starch-based technology, the polymers can be used in applications such as cosmetics, personal care and food packaging. DuPont will market and distribute Plantic’s starch-based sheet materials for trays and rigid packaging applications in North America, extending the company’s market, previously limited to Europe and Australia. The US group will also sell Plantic’s starch-based injection moulding resins in all markets except Australia and New Zealand.
