JinHaas, A Joint Venture Between Rohm & Haas And Weihai Jinhong Polymer Co. Commences Operations – Update [ROH]

8/21/2007 5:32:26 PM Rohm & Haas Co. (ROH), a provider of various specialty materials, and Weihai Jinhong Polymer Co. Ltd on Tuesday announced the commencement of the operation of their joint venture company, Jinhong Rohm and Haas Chemical Company or JinHaas.

The Weihai City, Shandong Province-based JinHaas will produce methacrylate butadiene styrene, acrylic impact modifiers, and acrylic processing aids for distribution in China, as well as in other emerging markets.

With this joint venture, Rohm and Haas will become the first multinational company with a significant footprint of plastics additive manufacturing in China. The local manufacturing facility is a great addition to the current Asia-Pacific manufacturing and supply network of Rohm and Haas overall.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Rohm and Haas hold 51% of the JinHaas company shares and the remaining shares are held by Jinhong Polymers Ltd., a Chinese building and construction specialty materials manufacturer.
