Pleading Guilty… With Extenuating Circumstances

30 Jul

Plasticguy got flamed for tagging on to an article that was almost 2 years old, “how can you think you’re relevant when you give us this crap. If we’re going to invest the time reading your blog then we want to know what’s happening NOW!

Point well made. But, here’s my argument: Few… oh so few… people are actually in the know about developments in plastic technology. Much of what we read two, or even three years ago, still has to find a use such as a plastic thread that can absorb solar energy and convert it into electrical energy — how about on a sailboat where the energy could be harvested to power on-board electronics. Strangely, info on that advancement dried up pretty quick so I’m thinking it was “compartmentalized” by the military – consider a field uniform able to power up a soldier’s personal electronics.

My only defense is wanting to offer up a few articles from the past with the hope that someone might be able to point me in the direction of recent developments… or maybe it will spark an idea from an R&D scientist for a new widget simply because it was mentioned here…

honest… no laziness intended…
